Kapkures Maternity Centre
Gennarosity Abroad is proud to support the Kapkures Maternity, dedicated to providing lifesaving healthcare resources for mothers, newborns, and vulnerable patients in Nakuru County, Kenya. Serving over 165,000 individuals across two densely populated wards, Kapkures Health Centre has been a vital source of care since its establishment in 1996. However, the facility faces immense challenges, including insufficient medical equipment, limited staffing, and rising demand for maternity services.
By supporting this initiative, you help to transform healthcare access and outcomes for mothers and babies in Kapkures, offering hope and brighter futures for generations to come.

The maternity unit is critical, with over 1,200 expected deliveries annually, yet only 360 births were recorded last year due to resource constraints. Many mothers are forced to deliver at home under unsafe conditions, contributing to high maternal and infant mortality rates. Teenage pregnancies, poor nutrition, and limited immunisation coverage exacerbate these challenges.
Funds raised for the centre help provide essential medical equipment, such as;
-
Modern Delivery Beds to ensure safe and comfortable labor and delivery.
-
Oxygen Flowmeters and Resuscitators for newborns requiring immediate respiratory support.
-
Paediatric and Adult Scales to monitor health metrics accurately.
-
Treatment Trolleys, Examination Couches, and Delivery Sets for efficient patient care.
-
Wheelchairs to aid mobility-impaired patients.
-
Bed Sheets, Cellular Blankets, and Green Towels to ensure hygiene and comfort.
-
Space Heaters to maintain optimal temperatures for newborn care.
-
Pedal Bins (Black, Red, Yellow) for proper waste segregation and infection control.
-
Plastic Chairs for Patients, improving waiting room conditions.
-
Wall Clocks and Counterpanes for operational efficiency.
